Bhumiputri, and other earth elements is an artist monograph that weaves together poetry, drawing, and ecological reflection into a sustained inquiry into belonging and landscape.
Rooted in an East meets West sensibility, the book traces the meeting points between body and earth, memory and place, the named and the unnamed. Drawing on Zita Pitoy's practice of attentive observation, shaped by years of moving between Indonesia and the Netherlands, the work listens to what land holds: its textures, silences, and quiet rhythms.
This is not documentation. It is a parallel space where research continues in another form. Image and language meet on the page, pause, and listen to one another. Each spread opens slowly, in the spirit of the work itself.
Bhumiputri, meaning "daughter of the earth", is a book for those drawn to the intersection of ecology, poetics, and place. It is a portable site of encounter: to be held, returned to, and read against the landscapes of your own life.
