Zita Pitoy is an Indonesian born artist-researcher working at water sites human hands: drained, dammed, redirected, held where they were never meant to stay still. Through Bhumiputri, a situated methodology rooted in Minahasan heritage and in dialogue with indigenous philosophies, alongside decolonial ecological thinking, she practices extended drawing as a durational, ritual-based form of relationship-building with every agent present, human, more-than-human, and other earth elements alike. The work moves at the pace relationship asks for, and aims to shift how these places are related to, from management toward care, recovering knowledge that engineering pushed aside without erasing it.
